Bella

May 5, 2008 - March 14, 2023

Bella Johnston was born on May 5, 2008 to Sarge and Rainy in Silver Ridge, Manitoba.

She was lovingly chosen and brought home by Trevor and Rosemary Johnston to be their first dog fur baby in July 2008. She was the quiet one, off to the side, pretending to be innocent but her spunkiness showed up at home quickly once her shyness wore off. Bella lasted maybe one night in the puppy box that Trevor lovingly built for her but it soon became apparent she would be sharing our bed. She hated leashes but loved cats! So much that she didn't really know how to bark for the longest time, growing up with our 3 cats Max, Sassy, and Chelsey. 

Bella's loving nature taught our nephew Garrett how to love unconditionally by pursuing him at every turn to make him love her back. He struggled at first since he was very cautious of animals and uncertain of her. But Bella won him over and now he loves every kind of animal there is.

She had a way about her of doing that for all of our family and friends and even strangers just meeting her for the first time.

Bella fell in love with our family's dog Chevy and they had their first litter of puppies on April 29, 2015. Murphy stayed with us and Wilbur and Leelou live with special families that are friends of ours in Niverville. We are blessed to see them often.

Bella had her second litter of puppies a year later on June 3, 2016 and again we were so lucky to find homes for many of them with family and friends of ours. Chloe, Gus, Duke, Zoey, Trixie, and Shadow also live to carry on Bella's legacy. Stanley and Baby Bell went ahead of Bella to Dog Heaven to be with Bella's siblings, her Mom Rainy and Dad Sarge, and her sweet Chevy.

Goodbye to you our sweet, beautiful Bella. You almost made it 15 wonderful years with us and you have a left a hole in our lives and our home.

There will never be another just like you but your beauty and sweet nature lives on in your puppies.
